Avenue Charles-de-Gaulle is the continuation of the Champs-Élysées axis beyond Porte Maillot, so métro line 1 is the simplest route from most of Paris. From Charles de Gaulle–Étoile, Les Sablons is three stops away; from La Défense, also three stops. From Porte Maillot, it is one stop, or about 12 minutes on foot along the avenue. Leave the station by the exit marked avenue Charles-de-Gaulle and walk towards Pont de Neuilly; the building is on the avenue itself.

RER C stops at Neuilly – Porte Maillot, 12 minutes on foot. Buses 43, 73, 82, 93 and 174 stop at Sablons – Charles-de-Gaulle, two minutes from the door; the 73 runs along the whole axis from the Musée d’Orsay through the Champs-Élysées to La Défense.

Getting here by car

Avenue Charles-de-Gaulle carries heavy traffic between Porte Maillot and Pont de Neuilly. On-street parking on the avenue and in the side streets is paid, and there are public car parks nearby. For most patients coming from Paris or La Défense, the métro is quicker than driving. Patients arriving from the American Hospital of Paris, in the north of Neuilly-sur-Seine, can reach the practice in a few minutes by taxi or bus.

What to bring to your first visit

• Your carte Vitale if you are covered by French public health insurance, and a form of identification.
• Your insurance details: mutuelle card, or the policy number of your international insurer, so that the quote can be prepared with the right information. See fees and insurance.
• Any recent radiographs or dental records, including those from a previous orthodontist abroad, if you have them.
• For a child or teenager, the health record (carnet de santé) if available; a parent or legal guardian must be present.
• Your questions. The first visit lasts about 45 minutes and is the time to ask them.
